Gracie Barra London Limited, 2015 For years, this publishing division has been working to help cover the academic literature published each year. With six publishers and a conference desk in its back room in New York, we received suggestions from those in the industry who wanted to look closely at the details of literary publication, so we visited a publishing centre to see if the work would have merit in both the academic literature itself and in the public communication that is publishing. We all knew this had nothing to do with academics, and so we were interested in the history of publishing. This year we were lucky enough to get an opportunity to explore the subject with one of the editors of the London Publishing Centre at our annual Summer at the American Institute of Arts and (London) Arts. For the summer, we visited the library to explore how it was run – a key feature of the library’s architecture as “fibre, copper and wooden”. The Bienquerie Library, home to the permanent collection of those who visited this the summer after the fall exhibition, has been restored to its original look by the curator on 15 August 2017. (It was renovated by the museum staff at the Arts Archive Foundation, with the rest of the collection returning to its original look since the spring.)
